“Mìmesis”: a dialogue between art and landscape at the Chianti Sculpture Park

On the occasion of the inauguration, the appointment with the “CandleWineNight” returns,
between art, music and local flavors
The Chianti Sculpture Park presents its second seasonal exhibition. Mìmesis is a project that investigates the relationship between art and nature through the symbolic figure of the cypress, a recurring element in Natascia Ghini‘s artistic research.
The exhibition – which will be inaugurated on July 8th and will remain visible until November 2nd – will take place in the suggestive open-air Gallery of the Park, transforming the landscape into a living environment, crossed by light and seasonal transformations. Ghini’s pictorial-graphic works dialogue with the forest, exploring the theme of transparency as a bridge between artistic gesture and living nature. The cypress, at the centre of the exhibition, is interpreted not only as a landscape element but also as a sign of memory and territorial identity, rooted in Chianti as much as its image in collective culture. The intertwining of art and landscape is also reflected in the choice of materials: recycled fabrics, water-based colors and fixatives, recyclable synthetic glass produced with renewable energy.
Mìmesis also invites active and sensorial enjoyment: through QR codes on the captions of the works, in fact, visitors can access real places from which the subjects are taken, thus extending the experience beyond the exhibition and going to “discover” the cypresses directly in the territory.
The inauguration of Mìmesis is scheduled for Tuesday 8 July at 6:30 pm. After the meeting with the artist, the Park will host the second event of the “CandleWineNights” cycle, a formula that combines live music, art and wine in an intimate and evocative atmosphere, illuminated only by candlelight. BQ – Baritone Saxophone Quartet proposes an evocative repertoire that includes pieces by Max Richter, Arvo Pärt, Ludovico Einaudi e Zbigniew Preisner: a musical journey between reflection and emotion, where darkness becomes an interior landscape and music becomes poetic material.
