Eno-G-Astronomical Event: music, art and Wine under the stars

On Thursday, July 30, 2026, the Director of the Astronomical Observatory of the University of Siena, Alessandro Marchini, and his staff, accompanied by the Billi Brass Quintet, will lead us on a musical and cinematic journey between the moon and the stars!

– at 9.00 pm “A trip to the moon” with Billi Brass Quintet. Guided observation of the moon and night sky with Alessandro Marchini and Staff from the Astronomical Observatory of the University of Siena
A trip to the moon is a show dedicated to the moon, which combines two important forms of art: music and cinema. The show begins with the live projection and sound of the short film Le Voyage dans la Lune (1902), by G. Méliès, a celebrated masterpiece of silent cinema, considered the first science fiction film in history and inspired by Jules Verne’s 1865 novel ‘From the Earth to the Moon’, which anticipates by about a hundred years the first phases of the historic moon landing. The film, projected in its colour version, is accompanied by the Billi Brass Quintet with an original soundtrack composed exclusively for the group by David Short (former first trumpet of the RAI Orchestra of Rome).
The screening is followed by a brief historical and scientific presentation by Professor Alessandro Marchini, head of the Astronomical Observatory of the University of Siena.
The evening concludes with a dreamy musical journey, performed by the Billi Brass Quintet and accompanied by a projection of images of the moon and guided night sky observation by the Siena Observatory. Thus the Moon is the protagonist and the music ranges from “classical” to jazz, rock, pop, and the soundtracks of great cinema.
