An hour of music at sunset with…
Madaus!
The project “Frida” was born in New York and is inspired by the figure of Frida Kahlo. The album comes to life through songs of Mexican popular tradition, made famous by the unmistakable voice of Chavela Vargas, and through unpublished songs that speak of travel, passion, and love.
“Frida”,the third album by Madaus, is presented in the form of an exciting and entertaining concert with four original tracks by Madaus and four covers from Chavela Vargas’ repertoire. It is not only a tribute to Mexican tradition, but the result of the group’s personal and artistic research, which includes many more nuances that are especially evident in the original tracks. Women are an important presence in this work, strong women like La Macorina, sensual, delicate as in Dormi Ancora, women who have lived their own desires and who in being themselves have sought their own freedom.
“Frida” is also an opportunity to experiment with soundscapes through extraordinary instruments like the THEREMIN and the SOMA TERRA, which make the concert a unique and unrepeatable experience.
