Mariachi el Magnifico de Florencia. In 2017, the mezzo-soprano Beatriz Oyarzabal Pinan, a Mexican from Baja California but a Florentine by adoption for over a decade, decided to bring the rich and colorful atmosphere of mariachi music to Florence and Tuscany, founding the group Mariachingon, later made more Florentine as Mariachi el Magnifico de Florencia to simultaneously pay homage to both Mexico and also to one of the most famous figures of Renaissance Florence. To date, the group, composed of 5 members, has in its repertoire mariachi pieces that cover a century and a half of Mexican music from the late 1800s to the present day, often arranged by Guido Menestrina specifically for the ensemble.
